Commissioned by Modern Art Oxford, working with The White Wall company and David Kohn Architects. This is a major permanent usable artwork for Modern Art Oxford in the form of a 60 seat cafe.  Photographs by Thierry Bal.

Unabashedly bringing colour and joy, Emma Hart’s upbeat cafe transforms the underground space.  Club Together generates the energy of a basement rave, with the backs of the chairs creating a crowd of hands lifted in celebration, offering an enthusiastic welcome to visitors. Glass-topped tables and seats bounce energising sunset shades across the floor, creating ever-changing patterns that shift as people move. The imperfect circles, that shape the furniture, reveal they were drawn by the artist herself, retaining a sense of Hart’s hands-on making process. Unaffected by the outside world, the cafe offers a space for gathering and enjoyment, in which to feel exuberant and revitalised.
