Last Chance Saloon doesn't ask you to look at it. It asks you to walk in and order a drink. Ceramic cocktails tip into faces, fruit slices double as eyes, drinking straws raise an eyebrow. A bar is a social machine where people confide, flirt and test out different versions of themselves. This sculpture is a psychedelic ceramic South London pub interior, cut from stoneware and set down on an exterior Peckham rooftop, with the London skyline pulled into the work. You arrive as a visitor. You leave as a regular. Photographs by Thierry Bal.
